Pelican Rest delivers high impact image country-style call to action from Qld

Steve and Lorraine McNamara of Pelican Rest Tourist Park on the Carnarvon Hwy at St George Queensland have changed their main web page picture.

Easy done, all that takes is a quality call-to-action image and an email to GoSees mother company ContACT Internet Solutions. Typical of websites built by ContACT flexible management of Pelicans Rest's website is built in.

What is not so typical in the caravanning industry in Australia and New Zealand is the actual image Steve and Lorraine have placed to bring visitors to their tourist park. It is not predictable. It is original. It has country feel. The impact of the picture of Kia Ora Stations huge cotton crop grabs the imagination. The glowing image has 'spread' in every sense it clamours to be looked at. It says the Top Tourist Parks chain members is central to interesting things to do and see.

This is not a new idea in road tourism marketing, but strangely in your correspondent's experience it is often neglected by caravan, tourist and holiday parks in Australia and New Zealand.

As urban living pressures build there is a huge growing audience of city stressed people who crave 'escape' experiences. Steve and Lorraine choice of Home Page image dovetails with the fact that they know their area and share their knowledge with visitors to their Tourist Park. Their district, its people, its history, events its attractions are all part of that free advice.

No rig is too big, Pelican Rest Tourist Park is pet friendly (but not inside cabins). There is a convenient dump point. There are modern ensuite cabins, some have spas. The park has a special needs bathroom. Overall its a nice clean Tourist Park 2km out of town to spend some time in.

Pelicans are not park residents. They live in the Balonne River about 750m away and dry conditions have not helped their numbers.

But Its certainly restful at Pelicans Rest and the natural peace includes kangaroos which feed in the park in the evening and provide a live show for sundowners. The big campsites and the clean new, cabin options are the parks hallmark which are the benefits behind Pelican Rest's country-style call to action.

Editors note: Kia Ora is a 12,000 hectare cotton farm bought for $60m in 2008 by the Cayman Islands-based Eastern Australia Agriculture.
