Gayle and Don Peters set their 2008 Outback Queensland Tourism Award winner Dalrymple Tourist Van Park apart by going the extra mile.

The four star rated Family Parks chain member park is in Charters Towers on the northern entrance to town.

It is on the Lynd Highway about 1.8 kilometres north of the Information Centre and the city centre.

And as travellers may have to pass other caravan parks to get to Dalrymple Tourist Van Park Gayle and Don have a positive value-add response.

"We go the extra mile for our guests to ensure their stay is comfortable and enjoyable", Gayle Peters said today.

There are discounts for Family Parks members and travellers who have a Seniors Card (only one discount applies of course).

Country hospitality and first class facilities are Dalrymple Tourist Van Park's Outback Queensland Award winning point of difference.

Gayle says travellers have a right to expect spotlessly clean amenities and commitment to the "extra mile" in services and accommodation provided.

This includes ensuited fully self-contained cabins, slab powered sites- with some with ensuites, large grassed camping area, sparkling saltwater pool with wading area, jumping pillow for kids of all ages, covered camp kitchen barbecues, dump point, a kiosk and plenty of room for large rigs to 20m.

"If guests need to keep in touch with home or want to let friends know about their holiday, we offer wireless broadband access throughout the park", she said.

"There is also an internet kiosk accessible 24 hours a day and fax photo copying facilities. We have a public phone on site and mobile phones will work here too," Gayle said.

"Disabled facilities are also available".

"Even after we’ve got all that right, we want to do more so we organise social events throughout the winter season, including Devonshire teas evening campfires and barbecues", Gayle said

"People can sit around and yarn to their heart’s content or spend some time watching the birds in our aviary", she said.

"We have a friendly Pet Policy on our caravan and camp sites. There are conditions so pet owners need to talk to us about their pets needs.

"Charters Towers Golf Course is right next door and we hire golf equipment- including golf buggies", Gayle said.

"When guests want to get out about, we can help with all the information for local attractions," Gayle said. Editors Note: Here are family related Information Articles from the GoSee files -
