2009 NSW Supershow draws 78,192 to Great Caravan, Camping, 4WD Holiday Escape

"It is a great result to have over 78,000 people attend the NSW caravan and Camping Supershow this year to browse exhibits and learn more about caravan and camping holidays", Barry Baillie, CEO of the Caravan and Camping Industry Association of NSW said today.
"Generally, exhibitors reported very good results at the show this year in a tough economic climate".
Held at Rosehill Racecourse from 18 to 26 April 2009 the Caravan, Camping, 4WD and Holiday Supershow today reports increased visitors numbers and encouragingexhibitor feedback.
Barry Baillie, CEO of the Caravan and Camping Industry Association of NSW said that visitor numbers totalled 78,192 over the nine day event which was slightly up on 2008 figures.
"Caravan and camping tourism has been growing for over 10 years and we are encouraged that strong attendance figures at the show this year are differentiating our industry from other tourism sectors that may be feeling the effects of the economic slump", Barry Baillie said.
"Camper trailers and camping products were popular purchases at the show this year with families keen to get into the holiday mode. Families with children between the ages of two and 15 years were interested in the campers for holidays".
"Three to four person tents have been a very popular purchase for young families and couples visiting the show this year and fold-up camp cupboards and camping chairs have also been popular,” Mr Baillie said.

The winners of the Supershow Passport competition were announced on the final day of the NSW Supershow (Sunday, 26 April) with the major prize of a Golf Bushman Tourer Caravan, plus $2,000 worth of Family Parks stays across Australia, plus CIL Caravan Insurance won by Min Bonwick and Frank Johnson of Newport in NSW.
Frank Johnson, partner of Min Bonwick, was presented with the new Golf Bushman Tourer Caravan at Rosehill Racecourse today (27 April) and was overwhelmed with their win.
"We have owned a Jayco camper trailer for the past 10 years and we are keen to travel so winning the Golf Caravan with the insurance and Family Parks stays is sure to come in handy,” Frank Johnson said.
Other Supershow Passport winners include:
Amaia Urberuaga of Casino who won the second prize of a Ukko Tent Sauna, Yvonne Thomas of Thirroul who won the third prize of an Evakool Fridge/Freezer, and George Edwards who won the fourth prize of an Anaconda Camping Package.
The NSW Caravan, Camping, 4WD and Holiday Supershow will be held from 17 to 25 April at Rosehill Racecourse in 2010.
