"We have not got a scratch in our tourist area", Debbie Smith, Manager of Lake Ainsworth Holiday Park Lennox Head, NSW said today.

There is more good news from Midge Point and Travellers Rest Caravan Camping Park Caravan Park, Queensland too. They are back up and running after being hit by cyclonic winds about two and half months ago.

GoSee spoke with Karen Dineen, Principal and Managing Director of Dineen Tourism Management today.

Karen says: “we have had some damage to Lake Ainsworth Holiday Park Annuals section at the west side but nothing to speak of in the tourist area at the eastern end. The main thing is that no-one was hurt and we were lucky that our Annuals section experienced low occupancy the day the tornado hit.

In the attached Google map – the annuals are in the far left side of the pic – the white parts are annuals vans and annexes.

The tornado came up Ian St, Lennox Head straight through the annuals and out into the lake The entrance area where the pointer is was untouched and it missed the house, office , tourist villas and tourist cabins
