Wonderful Winter - Spring rain brings spectacular Grampians waterfalls Mackenzie Falls Grampians National Park |
After our wonderful winter rain, spring this year in Victoria's Grampians means the creeks are flowing and the waterfalls are tumbling.
MacKenzie, Clematis, Silverband and the many other waterfalls are providing a spectacular sight. Prue Daley, Parks Victoria Tourism and Community Grampians District sent in a photo of MacKenzie Falls taken early this week that shows the amount of water currently coming over the falls.
Though the view is spectacular, visitors are advised not to try and cross the rock crossing at the base of the falls as water is flowing over the area. A short walk to the bridge is a safer option and will provide wonderful photo opportunities.
Spring into the Grampians
Just a reminder that Grampians Tourism is running a "Spring into the Grampians" campaign. They have developed some wonderful information for visitors visiting the Grampians Region this Spring.
There are brochures and a dedicated website featuring wildflowers of the region including areas to visit, tools to identify wildflowers and details of over 50 springtime events.
For further information visit www.springintothegrampians.com.au or drop into one of the local Grampians Visitor Information Centres or Brambuk the National Park and Cultural Centre in Halls Gap.
