Stay on track GoSee Plan a Trip tour maps better than a good thing in Aust and NZ Kick back with the Biguns parked Miranda Holiday Park Waitakaruru. |
GoSee has upgraded its free Plan a Trip touring map option to give full satellite coverage from one specific destination to another anywhere in Australia and New Zealand. A click on any of the sequential, printable directions brings a specific sub-map.
Terrain is another option available to help read hilly going ahead of time. Major caravan and holiday park chains can be imposed on a planned trip. Independent caravan parks are covered too.
Plan a Trip is the 13th option down on the left hand side of the GoSee Home Page and it has been a must do for GoSeers for more than seven years.
Plan a Trip is one of the most popular free services for travellers GoSee provides so we have worked to make a good thing better on both sides of the Tasman. GoSee website design staff at our mother company ContACT Internet Solutions Pty Ltd made the free Plan a Trip and directions to business mapping project happen.

It is all driven from the GoSee Caravan and Holiday Park Management Database which is updated daily. For our industry supporters once a park or business has been located on the 'map tab' it can then be added to 'Plan a Trip' or 'Business directions' with a tick of a box.
A great feature of the 'Plan a Trip' for all GoSee supporters is that participating parks are displayed with their chain logo. In addition click the Plan a Trip number next to a sequential map direction and that specific direction is shown in detail on the map.
Satellite images allow detail of the specific address of the destination right down to the swimming pool in the back yard, the caravan in the drive or the big pine tree out the front.
In difficult terrain the satellite zoom in and out ability allows complicated road systems to be seen in their geographic context in relation to nearby landmarks and major centres.
This is invaluable in hilly country when line of sight is restricted by high ground, trees and roads which wind about regardless of compass commonsense. It also copes with hidden and hilltop turns.
For example in Australia Victoria's scenic but certainly confusing Yarra Valley makes a great deal more sense when seen from satellite vantage.
Use the full street address of the start point and the destination and the winding, ridge and valley, hill and dale world of a tour through Eltham via Cottles Bridge, Arthurs Creek across the edge of Yan Yean Reservoir, to Whittlesea, and Upper Plenty on C727, C729, back on C727 - Epping - Kilmore Rd then right onto the Hume Highway and away to Albury-Wodonga, Canberra and Sydney is something which can be lodgically related to.
In New Zealand Plan a Trip helps when the destination has an unusual spelling. Use the GoSee Multi-Search at the top right of the Home Page to get a street address.

For example if surf centre Raglan in the North Island is the destination. Knock Raglan into the Multi-Search. Select Holiday Parks in the drop down. Click Search. Raglan Holiday Parks will appear.
Take the street address. Open GoSeeNewZealand upgraded Plan a Trip. Assuming you start at Auckland International Airport knock Auckland into the From box. Then knock 61 Marine Parade Raglan NZ (one of Ragland's Holiday parks) into the To box. Click get directions and away you go.
Click any of the drive direction numbers on the left of the Plan a Trip page and that specific part of the drive will be brought into sharp focus. Distance to be travelled and time behind the wheel are top right on the touring instructions plus the distance between each drive directions way point is there to check as the trip progresses.
Click the Satellite option button and the drive experience can be expanded and focus on any part of the trip. GoSee would certainly have been better off with satellite guided directions when we got lost between Port Waikato and Raglan on one of our motorhome adventures in New Zealand.
A link is included to the Information Article on that experience for the amusement of readers. Upgraded Plan a Trip is good news and much better than a good thing. It is touring magic and it is still free. Drivers and crew will find it helps to keep the peace big time.
