Kosciusko Mountain Retreat is uniquely situated in the peaceful seclusion of Kosciuszko National Park, sharing the natural beauty with friendly kangaroos, possums and other native Australian wildlife ... only a short drive (approx 25km) in your own car to Charlottes Pass. From here you can start your climb to Mt. Kosciuszko, or in winter the Perisher Valley ski resort.

The many full half day trips from Kosciuszko Mountain Retreat make it difficult to choose from all the activities that are available. These include: Bushwalking - especially The Summit Walk, Yarrangobilly Caves, The Mountain Slide and the Chairlift Ride (Thredbo). Play golf, tennis, go horse riding, fishing or bike riding, or sit back and relax in one of the fabulous mountain restaurants.

In spring summer, fishing takes over as one of the mountains most popular activities, with trout the most sought after fish. The Snowies offer a myriad of fishing environments ranging from alpine streams, world-renouned rivers, Lakes such as Eucumbene, Jindabyne and Khancoban Pondage.

As Spring Summer approaches, the gorgeous wildflowers of the Snowies prepare to bloom. Most wildflowers wait until the snows have melted, then they produce a tapestry of colour in white, yellow, purple and orange. At higher altitudes around Perisher Valley and Sawpit Creek the best displays occur in December, January and February.

Kosciuszko Mountain Retreat has a large family of kangaroos living around the Park. Also in the surrounding bushland there are wallabies, wombats and possums. If you are lucky you may see the platypus in the streams.

Kosciuszko Mountain Retreat is just a short 15 klm drive to Perisher Valley, on sealed safe roads to the ski slopes. You can be closer to the slopes without the high cost of On Snow accommodation. Just a 15 minute drive down the mountain are the shops, supermarket, restaurants, clubs and movie theatre at Jindabyne.

The special features of our Park will make your Snow Holiday more comfortable and enjoyable!
