Bowen is situated in the northern region of the Whitsundays, just 40 minutes drive north from Airlie Beach. It is a picturesque seaside town that offers a beachcombers paradise, with Queens Beach being one of the most popular of eight award-winning, palm-fringed beaches to explore.
With a daily average of eight hours of sunshine all through the year Bowen can also lay claim to having Australias best climate.
Queens Beach Tourist Village is located just a short stroll away from beautiful sandy beaches, set in four acres of landscaped gardens with lots of birdlife.
Our accommodation includes Our Deluxe Ensuite Cabins that are just that little roomier than others and have either a 2-seater couch or a sofa lounge that can be folded out to sleep others on a double bed with a quality inner spring mattress.
The disabled are catered for in two of our near new deluxe cabins with ramps leading up to a timber deck. The bathrooms in particular have purpose-built fittings installed to make the job that much easier for those that need it.
Our Double Ensuite Cabins and Poolside Cabins are ideal for travellers, couples looking for that quiet weekend away and those that work away from home. Our Budget Ensuite Cabin is perfect for those overnight stays. It is a neat, smaller cabin with a double bed and a set of double bunks for the kids.
For caravanners and campers our Powered and Unpowered garden sites are well-grassed, spacious and bordered by regularly maintained trees and hedges providing the necessary shade and your own sense of privacy from others. The majority of our sites have concrete slabs available and others invite the caravanning enthusiast and campers to set up as they wish. The park also has its share of drive-thru sites.
Queens Beach Tourist Village is only a short walking distance away from nearly all the facilities required to have a pleasant stay without having to hop into your car again.
The Queens Beach Motor Hotel and Café are just a hop, skip and jump away from the park so if you don’t feel up to cooking, you are more than welcome to try your taste buds out on what they have on their menu. Early morning breakfasts are also available at the adjoining hotel with prior arrangement.
Bowen was the location for the blockbuster movie “Australia” and is a relaxed easy going community.
There is so much to see and do in Bowen, you will never be bored! Local attractions include:
- Visit the famous BIG MANGO. This is situated next to the Bowen Visitor Information Centre on the Bruce Highway. The Centre stocks a range of Mango souvenirs preserves as well as the famous locally produced Mango Ice Cream.
