Located 92 km from Adelaide and 26 km from Port Wakefield, Balaklava is an important service town with a number of interesting sandstone buildings and verdant fields .
Balaklava Caravan Park offers guests very comfortable Ensuite Cabins which sleep 5 or 6 persons, together with spacious Powered Sites for caravanners and campers. We have room for the biggest motorhomes, 5th wheelers and buses.
Free Barbecues and spotless Amenites with disabled facilities, and our central location adjacent to grassed reserve, town swimming pool and bowling/croquet clubs makes Balaklava Caravan Park a great place to stay!
Balaklava hosts the annual Balaklava Cup horse racing carnival. The Balaklava Cup is the premier country race meeting, holding all industry records for attendance, betting turnover and stakemoney.
This is a truly amazing event where more than 12,000 people “take the day off” on a Wednesday in September and travel to the little town of Balaklava 100kms north of Adelaide for a day of fun, food, fashion, wine and great racing. People enjoy the day in whatever fashion - enjoying our many public bars and food facilities to five-star dining in the lavish Corporate Marquees.
The Balaklava Eisteddfod is also held annually.
Things to see and do while staying at Balaklava Caravan Park include:

- Lions Club Walking Trail - There is an attractive walk along the banks of the Wakefield River which has been organised and signposted by the local Lions Club.
- Devils Gardens - Located 7 km north east of Balaklava the Devils Gardens Reserve is an interesting picnic destination noted for its fine stands of river box gum trees.
- The Rocks Reserve - Located south of Balaklava the Rocks Reserve is a pleasant 11.5 hectare picnic and walking destination on the banks of the Wakefield River. It takes its name from the attractive rock formations which have been created by the river.
