Gowrie Park Wilderness Village is located at Gowrie Park in North West Tasmania on a major tourist route connecting Devonport to the West Coast via Cradle Mountain, 15 km south of Sheffield on Claude Rd.
Cradle Mountain is just a short 43 km drive away from our park. Gowrie Park Wilderness Village offers fabulous views of the mountains, and our accommodation options are most affordable.
Mt Roland Range consists of Mt Roland (1234m), Mt Van Dyke (1084m) and Mt Claude (1034m). This group of mountains forms a natural amphitheatre, in the centre of which is Gowrie Park Wilderness Village.
Our accommodation options include:
Cabins: Four spacious ensuite self contained cabins, each sleeping up to 6 guests. All linen is provided in the cabins. Cooking facilities, TV and heating provided.
Backpacker rooms: Shared facility backpacker accommodation. Own room with key - no need to share with other backpackers. We supply mattress, pillow and pillow cases. Shared facilities. BYO sleeping bag or sheets or doona, or hire from us.
We also offer Powered Sites for caravanners and campers. Our excellent facilities and location will ensure a comfortable stay for the whole family. Leave the caravan with us while you hike up to Cradle Mountain! We are able to cater for buses and the largest 5th wheelers.
**For those travelling with a laptop we can provide email retrieval at our office.
Also on the property you’ll find Weindorfers, a licensed restaurant and function room that takes you back in time.
The 55 seat licensed restaurant is currently open for bookings all year. This is an award winning restaurant with accolades from "The Food Lovers Guide to Tasmania" and "Mietta's Food Guides".

Nearest shops and services are at Sheffield (15 kms) and include butcher, bank, bakery, petrol, supermarkets, newsagent, craft shops, rural supply stores, police, fire, medical centre, accountant, solicitor, hairdressers, Service Tasmania and Visitor Information Centre.
