What to do in Carnarvon:
Gascoyne Growers Market – May 25th - October- Saturday mornings from 11.30am at the Carnarvon Civic Centre. Listen to buskers, grab something to eat while you shop for the freshest local produce in WA.
Walk the one mile jetty or catch a ride on the “Coffee Pot Train”.
Try your luck at fishing off the end of the jetty, with the end section having a deep channel, all the big ones are caught there. This is a very popular fishing spot.
Take a walk or bike ride along the Fascine.
Go visit the Small Boat Harbour home of the fishing fleets. (prawn trawler, snapper and crab boats.)
Fish and seafood may be purchased in season.
Capture a breath taking sunset at various locations around town. Why not get some fish and chips and sit on One Mile Jetty, or the edge of the Fascine or one of the Parks or beaches. There are a couple of free barbeques at Baxter park or the Fascine so why not pack a bbq and cook dinner.
TropiCOOL Festival – part of the annual Gascoyne in May Festivals.
CarnarFIN – an annual week long fishing competition attracting a lot of visitors.Late May.
