Tyre Wear

Posted By:Colin W2008
Hi Lostnluvinit. I tow my Galaxy 18 Foot van with my Duel Fuel lpg & petrol vy v6 Commodore with out any problems I have a 1600kg t/bar fitted & superlift shockers as well.My original Bridgestone tyres had done 70000 km when we went on our first decent trip interstate so I had the tyres replaced with the equivalent tyres 225.55.16 xenon tyres (Bob Jane brand) after my trip & running the tyres at 35psi and doing 6500 km the centre of the tyres were worn down almost to the wear bar & the fronts like brand new.I took it to Bob Jane tyres and they could not explain why except to say that they are a softer compound tyre.I have a Genuine Holden 1600kg towbar & a HR 4 bar 130kg wdh fitted and pump the shockers to 50psi depending on load. I have had the tyres swapped front to rear and am off again in June so i will run the tyres at a bit lower pressure and see what happens. Colin
