How come nobodys mentioned speed?

Posted By:Jock
I have a 2006 Terracan and it came standard with Kumho Venture S/T s. I have recently completed 24,000 round Oz trip with 40psi front and 44 psi rear. I have just, at 63000 kms, replaced the Kumhos with identical ones because they wore evenely and there were still about 15,000 kms left...This included the stony Gibb River Road. I only replaced them as we were heading up to Cape York and didnt want to chance it on worn tyres..I am using 2 of them for extra spares now. I was advised by a tyre dealer to pump them up to these pressures when towing and have not experienced any abnormal tyre wear.

Reading the above posts makes me wonder about speed. I tow at 90KPH and sometimes like on the Pacific or Bruce HGY. where we are Tailgated by Trucks, move it to 100 KPH. My rig would weigh about 1500 KGS plus another 300 kgs extra load on the Terry.

What speed do you tow at whilst experiencing the abnormal wear??

Jock
