Mogo Zoo
Mogo Zoo is a privately owned zoo situated 10 kilometres south of Batemans Bay in the picturesque historic gold mining village of Mogo.

We are an organisation committed to the survival of endangered animals and provide world standard facilities for over 200 animals of more than 42 rare exotic species, including the largest collection of primates in any private Zoo in Australia.

We are an institutional member of ARAZPA (Australasian Regional Association of Zoological Parks and Aquariums). We work closely with all major Australasian zoos, cooperating in various Species Management Programs and are actively involved in many global breeding programs.

Mogo Zoo has attained the earnest reputation as being one of the most successful private Zoos in Australia, winning the Regional Attraction Award in the South Coast Awards for Excellence in Tourism in 2002, 2003, 2005, 2006 2007.

At Mogo Zoo you will be intrigued by close encounters with an array of endangered and exotic animals from around the globe – a truly unique experience!

The keeper talks and feeding sessions offer an educational experience and provide visitors with an insight into the natural behaviours of the animals.

Keeper for a Day Experience at Mogo Zoo

Have you ever wanted to experience a day in the life of a Zoo Keeper? Mogo Zoo is now providing this opportunity to those who dare to wonder into this intriguing world of exotic animals.

This unique behind-the-scenes experience will delight the senses as you encounter a range of animals from around the globe, some of which may include snow leopards, tigers, primates, red pandas, meerkats, giraffe and various reptiles. You will have the opportunity to feed, feel and observe these exotic creatures.

Have you ever been amongst a mob of meerkats during the frenzy of feeding time or up close and personal with African servals? Well these activities are just a snapshot of a day in the life of a Zoo Keeper and you too could experience the thrill of being involved in the daily care and maintenance of some of the world’s endangered and exotic animals.

This unique journey will also include lunch with Mogo Zoo’s Keepers providing you with the opportunity to gain knowledge on the animal kingdom on a one-to-one basis.

African Serval Experience

Mogo Zoo is offering you and a friend the opportunity to get up close and personal with two of our hand-raised Servals. You will encounter these beautiful creatures face-to-face as they frolic and play around you. Prices and conditions apply.

Mogo Zoo features beautiful picnic grounds set in luscious wildlife surrounds, and barbeque facilities situated just metres from the exhibits, café and gift shop.

It is Mogo Zoo’s aim to involve and to educate the public at large and offer its visitors an intimate, educational Zoo experience.

Opening Hours
9:00am to 5:00pm seven days a week. Mogo Zoo is only closed on Christmas Day.

We recommend a minimum of 2 hours for your visit to our zoo, plan your visit to include our keeper talks and feeding sessions which commence at *10.30 am and 1.30 pm each day.

* The white lions are generally only fed during the morning session. Time changes may apply during holiday periods.
