With over 25 years experience in the Cartographic Industry, Hema Maps have developed a wide range of world atlases, road atlases, city, state and regional maps which are widely recognised for their clarity, quality and accuracy. We specialise in outback mapping and offer a large range of products to suit 4WD enthusiasts.
OUR PRODUCTS INCLUDE:
Road Atlases and Guides: The Hema range of atlases comes in eight different versions – all of which contain different features that match particular needs, uses or budgets.
The range includes:
- The Road and 4WD Atlas, which features 4WD maps;
- The Touring Atlas, the Handy Atlas, which is ideal for the budget conscious;
- and now the Easy Read Road and 4WD Atlas with 15% bigger lettering.
- The Motorcycle Atlas features Australia’s Top 200 Rides and is designed for the motorcycle tourer.
- The Truckies Atlas is geared for the professional driver,
- The new Caravan and Motorhome Atlas is perfect for anyone planning their ‘Around Australia’ trip.
The atlases are available plastic coil or conventionally bound. A range of other Atlases and Guides including street directories are also available.

Around Australia Atlas and Guide:
Many people dream of the ‘Round Australia trip’ and, if you take the time to look, there are fascinating things to see in every corner of this country. Australia is a land of contrasts, with dusty outback towns, stunning sandy beaches, rainforest hinterland, breathtaking alpine vistas and the Great Barrier Reef.
Around Australia helps you choose from the smorgasbord laid before you, with personal experiences making it a 'real life' account highlighting many fantastic places that aren’t widely promoted or well known.
Australia Maps:
This range of Australia maps are developed from Hema Maps’ comprehensive field-checking program – so they are among the most detailed road maps available. This base mapping is then presented in various forms with different themes: outback, railway, terrain and more. So all Hema’s themed Australia maps are based on a detailed road map
State Maps
Hema’s range of state maps all feature comprehensive road detail with road identification numbering, roadside rest areas and camping areas. These maps are available in two forms. One map is all on one side in the standard State
Map format. For the Handy Map, half the state is on one side and the rest on the other – making a smaller, more conveniently sized product. It’s about giving the customer choice.
City Maps:
The city maps are the perfect alternative for users that don’t need to access every single road but do have a wider range of uses for the map. Each city map product contains a map of the entire city with primary, secondary and tertiary road patterns; an inner city map; and a regional/day-trip map.
Added features, such city centre distance markers on major roads, postcodes and road numbering, make these maps appropriate for a wide range of users. As with the state maps, the city maps are also available in two formats. The greater city series provides more of an overview, on larger sheets.
