Description

For a taste of the Aussie outback and goldfields adventure head to Cave Hill Reserve south of Coolgardie.

Accessible only by four wheel drive, Cave Hill is known for its spectacular granite outcrop and cave formation.

It?s one of the biggest and highest granite monoliths in the region.

Here you can go bushwalking, explore the cave and see native animals and birds.

It?s the perfect day trip from Coolgardie or Kalgoorlie, or you can camp overnight under a star-filled sky.

There are barbecues and toilet facilities on site.

Cave Hill Reserve is one of the stops along Cave Woodlines, a 375 kilometre four wheel drive trek between Coogardie and Hyden.

The track takes you back to the days when timber was needed to support mining operations at Kalgoorlie and Coolgardie.

Evidence of the woodlines is everywhere, from the remnants of rail sleepers to loading ramps near the main track.

The drive to Cave Hill Reserve takes about an hour and a half from Coolgardie.
