Description

Wave Rock in Hyden, WA 14 metres high, and 110m long, and appears ready to crash onto a pre-historic surf, now frozen in time.

Believed to have formed over 2700 million years ago, Wave Rock is part of the northern face of Hyden Rock. The shape of the wave is formed by gradual erosion of the softer rock beneath the upper edge, over many centuries. There are actually several examples of such "waves" in the Hyden area, and if you have the time, it is well worth the effort to see some of the other smaller, but equally spectacular, ones.

WAVE ROCK CARAVAN PARK, CABINS AND KIOSK offers quiet and restful powered and unpowered sites in a natural bush setting within walking distance of Wave Rock, plus a large area for coaches.

Accommodation is available in on-site vans and fully self contained one bedroom cabins which sleep up to 6 people. The Cabins have own ensuite, full kitchen facilities, TV/DVD and reverse cycle airconditioning. Linen can be hired or you can BYO.

Facilities include a swimming pool, barbecue area, clean amenities, satellite TV transmission, and an onsite Kiosk. The Kiosk has drinks, icecreams, food, film, Wave Rock souvenirs, postal services, ice, gas refilling facilities, and credit card and EFTPOS access.

The Wave Rock Lakeside Resort has been developed to cater for the visitor who would like to get away from it all in a home away from home. There are fourteen two bedroom cottages (including one with disabled facilities) situated on the shores of Lake Magic, one kilometre north of Wave Rock.

Guests are also welcome to make use of the swimming pool at the Wave Rock Caravan Park, and the facilities at the Wave Rock Motel, including gym, relaxation lounge, bar and restaurants.

The Wave Rock Motel is a three star motel offering both standard and utive accommodation. Our Executive Suites feature a spa, mini-bar, luxury fittings and a private courtyard. There are 3 restaurants at the hotel/motel to suit all tastes and budgets.
