Stuart Lamont CEO of Caravan Industry Association of Australia joined representatives from aviation, health insurance, wine, recreational fishing, timber, and sport to discuss industry issues with the Prime Minister on July 28, the Caravan Industry Association of Australia reports.
Of importance was highlighting from an industry perspective the significant contribution to regional Australia, the strength of the manufacturing sector in the face of the demise of the car industry, the desire for reforms around importation and an improved system to lift standards in the eyes of the consumer, and the need for regulatory burden to be applied consistently across all industry participants.
Other discussions included infrastructure, affordable housing, labour penalty rates, and taxation reform.
These opportunities to speak with senior politicians provide a great vehicle to have industry issues not only presented to Government but for discussion with like minded individuals, who have similar frustrations at a national level.
Caravan Industry Association of Australia will be following up with the Prime Ministers office regarding caravan industry specific discussions.
Caravan Industry Association of Australia will be further leading a delegation to Parliament in several weeks to discuss industry issues with senior Cabinet Ministers.
