Murcotts Driving Excellence conducts daily one hour seminars which cover all the basics. The sessions will focus on the legal towing requirements for all States, safe hitching, weight management, loading, braking, tyres, defensive driving, reversing and parking.
Participants will have the chance to win a daily prize of a Defensive Driving Course (value $295) by correctly identifying the safety issues from an inspection of a standard RV rig.
All participants will receive a comprehensive Towing Handbook.
Experienced 4WD adventurers from the Victorian 4WD Clubs will lead sessions. Representatives will discuss how to plan and prepare a 4WD. How to pack it and safety issues.
They will outline what to look out for in certain areas of travel, road conditions, tyre pressures, recovery gear required.
Convoy procedures will also be discussed as well as courtesy and good manners when on the UHF radio etc.
They will provide relevant tips to ensure safe and enjoyable travelling.
The Caravan Trade Industries Association of Victoria (CTIAV) and the Victorian Automobile Chamber of Commerce (VACC) have teamed up to provide a showcase of the latest RV, camping, touring, off road products.
For those visitors who love fishing or would like to learn more, the Yamaha Supertank will be at the show everyday. Shows will run at 45-minute intervals and will educate visitors on the use of fishing lures and how these impact fishing.
The spectacular fifteen metre long and three metre high perspex fish tank will allow visitors to see fish in their natural habitat. Brett Thomson and Michael Cooke will showcase different lures currently available on the market and how fish react to these, Chief Executive Officer of CIA Victoria, Rob Lucas said.
If you prefer a more hands on experience, then the towing track is for you! This year AL-KO will be showcasing their Electronic Stability Control System. This system is a world first in safety technology recently released to the Australian caravan market.
Murcotts driving school will also be running caravan towing demonstrations on the track, and visitors will be able to ride in the passenger seat to get a feel of how different caravans tow.
Rob Lucas commented, The towing track is a great new feature at the 2014 show, AL-KO and Murcotts driving school will be running demonstrations throughout the duration of the event. Also at the show we have a free shuttle buggy service to help get you around the show with ease.
