Drive 200kms south of Perth toward Bunbury, pass magnificent tall Jarrah trees and arrive at Collie River Valley's magnificent arboretum. Planted in 1922 using Australian native trees this arboretum is floodlit at night and creates a magic appreciated by visitors and locals.

Collie River Valley is a small country town with 9,500 residents. The town is charming and the locals' hospitability is warm and friendly. Collie dams provide the drinking water for the south west of Western Australia.

The town has a good supply of shops and recreational activities and a hospital.

The area is ideal for bush walking, horse riding, picnics, water skiing, canoeing and swimming. Fishing is a favourite too as perch, trout and marron frequent the Collie rivers and streams.

The swinging footbridge over the Collie River is a photographer's favourite.

The arboretum.

The art deco Miners Institute is an interesting insight for all historians.

All Saints Church with its stunning mural is a must see for all art lovers.

Namastey Lavender Farm is located 20 kms from Collie River Valley.

Coal Industry tours can be arranged week days for groups of 20 or more.

Collie River Valley Tourist Park has a range of accommodation options and facilities to suit most budget travellers.

Cabins and on-site caravans are fully equipped with TV, microwave oven, toaster, cutlery and plates. Linen, towels, pillows are all supplied in the price. If you should be visiting in winter, it is recommended that you bring additional blankets.
