Himatangi Beach Holiday Park's Margaret and Dennis Penney took the 2007 award at the 50th Holiday Accommodation Parks of New Zealand Conference & Trade Exhibition Awards Dinner at Hamilton's Kingsgate Hotel.
Himatangi Beach Holiday Park is an established award contender. The Family Park was a finalist for the AA Spirit of Hospitality Award in 2005. Greg Lawrence, the incoming CEO of the Family Parks chain, said Bowentown Beach Holiday Parks won the Hospitality Award in 2006.
"Now with the travelling public's vote of confidence in us again this year we know we have dedicated Family Parks members who give people what they want", he said.
"The award is decided on public response, people have to want to show their appreciation of the effort Holiday Parks put into making their stay memorable".
"It is a case of the most forms sent in wins, which makes us value Family Parks consecutive successes all the more", he said.
"For the past two years Family Parks has won that vote and our members deeply appreciate the support of all those who took the trouble to vote", Greg Lawrence said.
Greg is a force on the Family Parks stand at the Holiday Accommodation Parks of New Zealand Hamilton conference backed up by owners and managers of the Trans Tasman chain from New Zealand and Australia.
