The chain has started well in the lead up to the Australian Tourism Awards Five BIG4 Parks lead their states Tourism Award in the category of Tourist and Caravan Parks.
Kids are kings at Watts caravan parks
The Winning Parks were the Watts family Melbourne BIG4 Holiday Park,in the Melbourne suburb of Coburg VIC; It is the second year running that the Watts Family owned park has taken the award at State level.The other four parks are MacDonnell Range Holiday Park, Alice Springs, NT; Peppermint Park Eco Village, Busselton, WA; Cairns Coconut Caravan Resort, Cairns, QLD and BIG4 Adelaide Shores Caravan Resort, Adelaide, SA.
Big 4 did not, however, win the award in NSW. It was won by the Oz Parks Lane Cove River Tourist Park. Beating a number of high profile Big4 and Top Tourist Parks.
Brendan and Bev Heenan run MacDonnell Range Holiday Park. It is 4.5km south of Alice Springs town centre, in a quiet bush setting at the base of the Macdonnell Ranges.

Peppermint Park Eco Village is run by Frances Jeeves and Michael Ryan. The park is in a Quiet location within natural bushland 8kms (10mins) west of Busselton, close to Margaret River wineries, South West coast, 300 metres to Geographe Bay.
Accommodation in the recently redeveloped park is set among natural bushland with brand new self-contained 1 2 bed cabins, powered sites, ablutions and camp kitchen. Peppermint Park has a Gumnut Award 2005 for environmental sustainability.
Cairns Coconut Caravan Resort is on 28 acres of tropically landscaped gardens at south entrance to Cairns, 7km from the city centre at Woree. The park is near a golf course and major shopping centre. It is run by Geoff and Jenny. It has won 12 Tourism Awards for Camping and Caravan Parks.
Adelaide Shores Caravan Park at West Beach is beachfront 10km from Adelaide's CBD and 3km from funky Glenelg.
Accommodation includes an extensive range from 2 brm ensuite units/cabins to on-site vans. All ensuite units/cabins have RC air-con, queen bed made up, TV, microwave, cooking facilites. Non-smoking units. Powered, camping and ensuite sites, motor home/campervan areas, camp kitchens. Unisex disabled ablutions (sites only). The park is a Tourism Hall of Fame and state Tourism Awards winner.
