Expo CEO says exhibitors lift bar as New Zealand campers rally to Hamilton

With 20,000 visitors this year the New Zealand National Motorhome & Caravan Expo has captured a growing motorhome, caravan and campingmarket, Event CEO Norm Evans told GoSee today.

We had more exhibitors this year and they all lifted their standards to make for a great Expo with more than 2,000 more showgoers compared to last year, he said.

Motorhome and caravan owners made the Hamilton Expo their rally destination and that created a camping villagewith hundreds of motorhomers and caravanners camping out the back, Norm Evans told the GoSee Expo team.

The GoSee team made many friends as they completed their second year in Hamilton for the New Zealand National Motorhome Caravan Expo .

At Caravan Motorhome World's standBrent Gillies, Parkside Media, Sales Manager Magazines Shelly Wheeler their Circulation and Subscription Manager spun the wheel for prizes to be drawn at the show for lucky visitors whotook out magazine subscriptions.

Farida Wills and her son Warren, from EasyCook whipped up their 10 minute breakfast consisting of bacon, sausages, toast and eggs in their healthy dry fry cooker.

The model shown (at right)is a 1350 watt model the Caravanner which Farida and her late husband invented 27 years ago. They retail at $199.00 in Aust or NZ . Next came the Vanilla Cake which was iced after cooling.

Chips and sausage rolls show the cookers versatility with the highlight the Baked Dinner consisting of roast chicken and vegetables - all done in 50 minutes. The EasyCook oven bakes, roasts, grills, dry fries and even washes itself.

Stephen Parsonson's display from Battery World's Mt Wellington shop, had a huge range of product available from their store. Their show specialwas the Commander GEL GDC150 Deep Cycle 12v 150amp hour battery on sale at the show for NZ$548.10.

Stephen Parsonson is now the Battery World New Zealand Operations Manager and is based in Auckland.

The Mt Wellington store is now managed by Alan Heape at 39D Mt Wellington Hwy Pamure, Auckland.

Battery World opened a new store while GoSee New Zealand was at the New Zealand National Motorhome Caravan Expo. The new Battery World shop is managed by Dean Abel of Snow Bros Auto Electric Ltd 69 Clyde St, Whangarei.

Dolphin Camperboats Ltd from Monaco Motor Homes, Nelson, had a practical approach to camping on land and water.

There were secondhand motorhomes for sale like the 2001 Hymer B534 Campervan powered by a Fiat 2.8 Turbo Diesel. The example in our picture at the end of this feature, in excellent condition with 76,000 kms on the clock was for sale for NZ$125,000.

Leisurebuilt Homes Ltd launched their new range, The Chalet Chalet Plus Series created a contemporary yet functional design maximising the use of natural light. They set a new benchmark for recreational accommodation.

Simple modern fixtures and fittings include flat screen monitor, built in glass door cabinet for DVD's and controls, kitchen pantry and even built in wine rack, seperate laundry, shower/toilet.

The Family Parks stand was busy as usual with chain membership and handing out the 2008 holiday park directory. New Treasurer, Tony Hazelwood and his wife Anne travelled from Australia to assist at the show whilst taking the opportunity to GoSee New Zealand for a couple of extra weeks.

If motorhomes, caravans, camper trailers, pop-tops, campervans Fifth Wheelers, tents or any RV and camping accessories grab you then this expo was a must visit.

Hosted in Hamilton, at the Claudelands Event Centre the expo is the motorhome and caravan industrys icon event.

Expo attractions included camping and outdoor equipment and accessories and new product releases.

Kea Campers built a 6 berth Motorhome during the four days of the Expo.
