New Zealand now has a unique international touring option for Kiwi buyers of quality leisure vehicles.
Collect a new campervan or motorhome in Australia or the UK, explore the best of both continents, and then take the leisure vehicle back to the dealer/factory to have it shipped to New Zealand.
Once such a touring option was on the wish-list now Barrons and its partner dealers make it happen.
Barrons are New Zealands major importer of European and Australian caravans and motorhomes. They also offer Kiwi-built motorhome product from Coachcraft and Boothy's.
Barrons $5.7 million investment in Taupo reflects in the biggest national dealership on their three-acre Manuka Street site in the picturesque lake-side centre of Taupo, Central North Island.
It is a committed approach which takes a positive position aimed at fully briefing new leisure vehicle owners with a practical demonstration of how to get the best fromthere new vehicle. So Barrons prefers to deliver a professional handover at the Taupo dealership.

The pre-flight plan includes how everything works. Generally dealerships on both sides of the Tasman work hard to give newcomers to the on-the-road lifestyle a good head start. That can (and should) include guidance on towing, backing using mirrors and a supported general introduction to handling bigger, heavier vehicles.
But Barrons goes a lot further. It stays close in the early stages of that learning curve and clients are invited to stay near the dealership on a Top Quality Campground. That way the new unit gets a full shakedown whilst the new owners are nearby.
If something needs to be explained again; or if teething problems come up Barrons workshops are on hand to guide or fix. This is a big safety net for newcomers to leisure vehicles and an excellent placement of first slip fielding in the critical world of quality control.Barrons loves customers going for a test drive or test tow.
Then we know that the way the products handle will impress any potential customer! David Holdof Barrons told GoSee.
BRV also operates a similar policy for prospective customers wishing to view Winnebago or Trakka models in Australia that they may not have in stock in New Zealand.
From March 3 this year all used Barrons Caravans and RV's have a 12 month warranty.
Barrons RV of Taupo is the only official Bailey Caravans Importer for New Zealand.
They will also be importing Bailey Motorhomes from 2010 and BRV is the only factory approved service centre for New Zealand with a direct parts service.
They also have the latest caravan models from Swift of Cottingham, Yorkshire. The features which these models offer break new ground in New Zealand and Australia. The designs are wind tunnel tested. Computer modeled spoilers at the rear reduce drag. Fully bonded construction makes major weight savings and produces massive strength in the light structure.
This naturally results in lighter loads on the tow vehicle which means better fuel economy, reliability and less time at the repair shop. This year the Swift models are 7ft 6in wide. Up to now they have been 7ft 4in.
Heating is addressed in a way which makes common sense in New Zealand and southern Australia if full all-season use is to be had from the leisure vehicle.

The Swedish Alde 'wet' central heating system is used on all twin-axle Swift Conquerors. It is ideal for all year round use. Especially in New Zealands South Island and the Central Plateau. The system provides accommodation which adds real warmth to winter snow sport activities.
Many leisure vehicle builders on both sides of the Tasman now have no interior space heating system at all.
But in the Swift fully insulated exterior doors complete protection against the elements, and especially reduce condensation levels.
All double glazing is frameless high specification, with a night latch facility for extra comfort, and condensation control.
The front window line is low to make the most of views.
All caravans above the entry level Sprite have the AL-KO AKS anti-sway couplings as standard. All Swifts have light alloy wheel rims to reduce unsprung weight on the suspension, and improve handling whilst towing.
The jockey wheel assemblies are inside the 'A' frame for ease of use, and strength.
Swift make over 20,000 vehicles a year in what is arguably the biggest and most modern assembly facility in Europe.
