Roadstar and Compass plan new models as Australian HiTec takes caravan maker opportunity

Roadstar and Compass caravans are on the road to more modern designs under new management in what is a good fit in every sense. This starts, as it should, from the wheels up.

Quality caravans must have a precision built chassis. So as Australian HiTec now has the reins that expertise is in place with 33 years of engineering knowhow behind it.

Managing Director of Australian HiTec Engineering Pty. Ltd., Ken Nazim, says the company provides engineering services for Australia, Asia and Europe. It builds caravan chassis for Roadstar and Compass too and now puts it all together on the production caravan line.

The foundation of the family owned business Saturn Quality Trailers is Allan R. Nizam. His sons Ken and Gary R. Nizam worked at Saturn Quality Trailers from the day the company was established.

Australian HiTec Engineering was formed by Allan's son, Ken, as a diversification from Saturn Trailers.

Saturn Trailers was established in 1976 and has built domestic and commercial trailers of the highest quality for 33 years.

Ken Nizam says he has high quality as a first priority. It shows in the caravans he is building. GoSee spent time on the production line with the Works Team who include many of the craftsmen who built the previous Roadstar caravans.

Australian HiTec Engineering Pty. Ltd. was a major creditor of Roadstar Industries Pty. Ltd. and Compass Caravans and proudly supported the previous owners, Ken Nazim said.

Roadstar will develop newer more modern designs with emphasis on quality, a true home-away-from-home with all the comforts you would expect from a Roadstar, he said.

GoSee found quality work and attention to detail in the design, build and finish of the run of caravans Ken and his production team showed us.

From the chassis up we saw thoughtful, professional attention. Caravan fittings and fit-out are in the best Roadstar tradition.

Editors Note: GoSee includes pictures from the production line which illustrate this point.

There are dealerships in ACT, NSW, Queensland, South Australia, Western Australia and Tasmania. Full details are available on
