BIG4 Cairns Coconut Holiday Resort is the best Tourist and Caravan Park in Australia with a win at the 26th annual Qantas Australian Tourism Awards. Six of the seven nominees for the award were BIG4 Holiday Parks.
The annual event was held at the Burswood Entertainment Complex in Perth and represents the industrys biggest and most prestigious awards of the year, with finalists from every state and territory competing in 27 categories.
For BIG4 Cairns Coconut Holiday Resort, the win signifies the hard work and passion that goes into operating the BIG4 Holiday Park. Manager Lloyd Smith says the success is the Parks fifth national award, which is a fantastic achievement not only for the Park, but for the tourism industry in Cairns.
Geoff Olholm had great vision over 23 years ago to build a large new caravan park in Cairns and to differentiate the park by introducing new and exciting facilities whenever possible. The park is now seen as a leader in its field with owners Geoff and Jenny sharing their vision and ideas with other parks around Australia, Smith says.
