Imagine - free heart rate check puts new life into national conference beach party

By Garth Morrison Editor GoSeeAustralia.com.au and GoSeeNewZealand.co.nz

In an imaginative move the CRVA 2011 National Conference introduced a free heart rate check for male delegates to the annual industry gathering at Jupiters Casino on the Gold Coast last night. GoSee is pleased to be able to post a picture of this notable original thought. For some it raised memories for others possibilities.

The Metermaid method proved a huge success last night as a record group of more than 500 delegates gave serious attention to embracing the idea that life is a beach.

This included application of coloured sunscreen in striking patterns whicn also used the Metermaid method.

The conference theme is 'imagine' the possibilities and find business fits for the future for Australia and the 8th state New Zealand.

Just now the world in general is a test for anyone's imagination.

Challenges!

You bet, from battered Japan to quake crunched Christchurch.

But there is a real determination about in the industry on both sides of the Tasman..

GoSee saw it in action at the recent New Zealand Motorhome and Camping Show in North Island Hamilton. As the industry displayed its best products the only question wastheexact date and location for the South Island show. There was no question of not holding it.

GoSee understandsonly one NZ holiday park is closed in the aftermath of the Christchurch quake.

Now Holiday Accommodation Parks Association of New Zealand (HAPNZ) CEO Fergus Brown is in Oz asking for an ANZAC attack on building the tourism pie. This includes the thought that the respective PM's should turn on a John and Julia show and combine Tourism Australia and Tourism New Zealand on the collective task of rising above recent natural setbacks.

In Queensland caravan parks and roads are open. Many media reports should be seen for what they are - entertainment industry. GoSee is certain that many of you will havenoted words and images repeat and all too often show only the worst aspects.Sure it is commonsense to check weather and roads before travelling. Do that close to the travel date.

The RACQ has an excellent service. Local police and Information Centres are reliable information sources. Call the caravan parks you plan to visit and follow their advice. GoSee lived and worked in Mackay Queensland through four Wet seasons.

The worst that happened was a suit consigned to a cupboard after the trip from the south grew a beautiful crop of blue mould.

Imagine - all it took to turn that around was a visit to the dry cleaner.

Oh yes - Imagine this - the reality is Queensland is drip-dry and it does that quick time.
