Bendigos 10th annual RV Camping Leisurefest drew 13,337. Organisers the Caravan Industry Association of Victoria (CIA) report good crowds on the Friday and Sunday which offset stormy skies on the Saturday.
CIA chief executive officer Robert Lucas said the final attendance reflected a massive day on Sunday. The total attendance was short of last years perfect weather record but about 22 percent up on 2009.
Our 10th birthday event achieved a fantastic result which more than met our expectations, he said.
In addition to the excellent attendance, we had an extra 2,000 square metres of display space this year, and a greater number and range of caravans and RVs than ever before.
Local dealers had a very strong presence, but so do exhibitors from all over Victoria and beyond, all of whom love the beautiful venue and relaxed atmosphere.
Its the perfect end to each years show season, and it is popular both for early Christmas shopping and for people shopping for a new caravan before the year ends.
Robert Lucas said Leisurefest attracted patrons of all ages and stages of life, as did the CIAs three other shows: the new Border RV Camping Expo at Wodonga, Melbourne Leisurefest at Sandown, and the Caravan Camping Touring Supershow at Caulfield.

In addition to the grey nomads who are such a big part of the caravanning community, we always have plenty of mums, dads and kids and increasingly we see the pre-retirees who are planning ahead for their time on the road, he said.
You only have to look around the show to realise that this is a lifestyle for just about anyone and everyone, of every age, interest and income bracket.
The RV Camping Leisurefest will return to Bendigo Racecourse in November 2012.
Free seminars on all three days of the Bendigo RV and Camping Leisurefest were strongly supported particularly all day Friday, Saturday until the weather went bad and Sunday morning.
