Contemporary Australians love coffee so Beacon Resort brought the brown and gold Mercedes coffee van into daily life at the BIG4 park from 8.30am during Christmas-January holiday period to serve fresh barista coffee for holiday makers and hot chocolate with marsh mellow for children.

Beacon's idea to bring us in is very popular with everyone and we just love chatting with holiday makers while we serve up their drinks, Espresso Mobile barista Pam Hislop said.

The busy daily activities board and notices in Beacon's front office window points to Pancake Express on the Bellarine Peninsula, Portarlington Festival, Sandcastle Competition, Yoga in nearby Princes Park from 8am, Family Trivia Night (book a table), Make Hats, Create Pictures with Perler Beads, Children and Adult movie programs at 9.30am, 4pm and 8pm and the current Colouring Competition winners.

Inside a wall of brochures presents local attractions and destinations supported by the knowhow, when and where of the office staff.

The caravan park has heated indoor pool and spa, indoor camp kitchen, all weather barbecue areas, free movies daily on the big screen, games room Giant Jumping Pillow and Adventure Playground, free kids activities all year round and free tennis court.

Bike hire is available for all ages and there are disabled facilities. A Function Room is available for private hire.

If inclusive facilities are factored in Beacon is a clear value for money winner. Beacon Resort collected the national award for Tourist and Caravan Parks at the Qantas 2009 Australian Tourism Awards.

The resort caravan park represents the best in the depth and quality of the state's tourism offerings. Beacon Resort's commitment to an ongoing program of facility upgrades and improvements to business practice and customer service has repeatedly set industry standards during its 40 years of operation.

The Golightly family owns and operates the park. They have shaped the business to be a leader in Australia's caravan industry growth over the past four decades as it blossomed from basic caravan and camping in the 1970s when an amenities block and playground meant upmarket camping.
