A hard worker, unpretentious, calm, understanding and kind these words from the memories of his friends in the GoSeeAustralia team salute Kevin Downie. Kevin, of Lake Hume Tourist Park died in the late afternoon of March 4, in the Mercy Hospital, Albury after losing his battle with cancer.
"Kevin worked incredibly hard to build his park and the industry", Graham Wallace Managing Director of ContACT Internet Solutions, mother company of GoSeeAustralia and GoSeeNewZealand said today.
"A member of Family Parks he was notable for the way he supported the chain", he said.
Kevin worked for his community too and joined the Bellbridge Lake Hume Rotary Club (District 9790) in 2006. He became the Club president in 2009-2010. Kevin was Club Secretary at the time of his passing.
Bellbridge Lake Hume Rotary Club President Roger Lyford says of Kevin Downie in the Rotary Club Bulletin - "In recent times he suffered from failing health but his cheerful disposition never changed and he was always wanting to be in the action and never complained over his health problems".
Kevin, his son, Matt, and daughter-in-law Suzanne moved from Melbourne to take over the park in August 2004.
