RVM Australia pursues automating RV manufacturing accreditation program

RVM Australia, the peak body for Australias RV manufacturing industry, has won a government grant to investigate the feasibility of automating the RV Manufacturing Accreditation Program (RVMAP).

The Victorian Government has funded the feasibility study under its Manufacturing Productivity Networks (MPN) program to help manufacturers reduce the time spent achieving compliance.

The Minister for Manufacturing, Hon David Hodgett, said the program encouraged small to medium enterprises to co-operate on projects beyond the reach of individual firms.

RVM Australia CEO David Duncan said RVMAP automation would allow RV manufacturers to better monitor and analyse non-conformances.

Our aim is to reduce rework and the administrative burden of compliance for all manufacturers, whether small, medium or large, he said.

Thanks to the help of the Victorian Department of State Development, Business and Innovation, we have an opportunity to achieve a benefit for the industry nationally.

Meanwhile, the roll-out of RVMAP is progressing very smoothly, with all Victorian audits complete and interstate audits on schedule to be complete within a few weeks.
