Rudi Fuhrmann, new CEO of the Campervan and Motorhome Club of Australia (CMCA) says Queenslanders Dennis and Dianne Darcy are the club's 65,000th membership.
The CMCA is the biggest RV organisation of its kind in Australia and in July-August 14,000 10 year memberships were celebrated with 10 year Anniversary Badges. Rudi Fuhrmann also notes that about 1000 Twenty Year Jubilee Commemorative badges were mailed to qualifying CMCA members.
He says the CMCA is on a mission to have "highly satisfied members".
Which leads to the club's 28th National Rally in Narrabri, October 21 to 27.
CMCA is going into a development phase which will propel its profile and services into new territory. A "stylish and contemporary" website plan has been introduced.
At Narrabri high-tech screen and audio visual equipment will project CMCA and all its works. The works now extend to a CMCA Master Chef who will whip up masterly meals in the CMCA Kitchen which is sponsored by Paradise Motorhomes.
Meanwhile two positions as Directors on the CMCA board will be decided after a ballot closes on September 20.
The five nominations share impressive collective credentials in RV's, council, state and federal government negotiation, State government committees, economics and statistics, service organisations, business management, computer business, financial services, consumer advocacy which led to an AOM, accountancy, directorship, member services, Paul Harris Rotary Fellowship and last but certainly not least communication.
The candidates are John Hartnett, Gary Rebgetz, Jozef van Zanen, Ken Kipping and Garry Lee.
