TheFeb 28 to March 2 2014 Hamilton Shows venue, Mystery Creek Events Centre, is the focus of the NZ National Fieldays. The New Zealand National Agricultural Fieldays are held at Mystery Creek, and attracts 1,000 exhibitors and over 115,000 visitors through the gates.

The immediate benefits to the NZ Motorhome and Caravan Show include easier access and the partnership means stronger marketing of the event.

As a rally site the venue comes with dinner and entertainment options and parking for more than 10,000 cars.

With shows in both the South andNorth islands the Camper Care NZ Motorhome and Caravan Shows are the National events on the camping calendar.

The HamitonNorth Island location, Feb 28 to March 2 2014,is close to the airport, Hamilton, Te Awamutu, Cambridge and Morrinsville and it is an easy commute from Auckland, Tauranga and Rotorua.

There is a new website www.nzmotorhomeshow.co.nz which responds to the bigger and better direction for exhibitors and visitors.

TOP10 Holiday Parks hosted a rally at the recent Christchurch showwhichwas free for the first time. The TOP 10 Rally at CBS Canterbury Arena, Christchurchwas open to anyone with a motorhome or caravan. The rally has always been a great opportunity for motorhome and caravan enthusiasts to gather together in a relaxed environment, see the show and get to know each other.

All attendees received a free goody bag with discounts, attractions, and surprises and the first 50 vehicles to register received a free bottle of Yealands PET wine.

The free Traillite Seminar Series at Christchurch ranged through topics like buying the perfect motorhome, to touring Australias hot spots.

CamperMate: Smartphones and what they can do for you

Adam Hutchinson, developer of the popular CamperMate iPhone/Android travel appgave an insightful presentation on the rise of smart phone technology, and how this technology can make travelling easier. Areas will range from what a smartphone is, GPS technology and the story of CamperMate, the app that is helping thousands of people travel New Zealand. CamperMate is a free app with a growing database of over 13,000 GPS coordinates such as toilets, dump stations, campsites and petrol stations.


RSE: Satellite v Terrestrial in Mobile Environment

Daryl from RSE (NZ) Ltd explained the difference between satellite and terrestrial Freeview and the whereabouts of the Optus D1 satellite which covers NZ. He also advised on the various dish systems available in NZ for the mobile market and how to receive the perfect reception. He covered installation options with the various satellite dishes and also how to cope with various channel changes like the recent PRIME change.

Australia-based Belinda shared some of her favourite travelling routes in Australia including the popular Darwin to Perth and Tasmania. She covered the basics of hiring a camper plus information on motorhome travel tips.

Presented by Mandy Davis from TrailLite, thiswas a valuable practical session for all prospective buyers.Mandy covered the right questions to ask and the information required to help make purchasing decision. With so many options for any prospective buyer the seminar highlighted and shared the vital points to consider to ensure buying the right new or pre-owned motorhome.

Jax Hamilton's Inspiration in the Kitchen presentations improved meals for travellers and the Interislander Destinations Court informed on regional attractions, camping grounds and events.
