When the temperature climbs and fire bans are enforced most caravan park guests prefer not to cook. Contrary to the weather Barbara Octigan has a high demand for hot food. Hamburgers and potato cakes are particular favorites but overall anything hot is popular.

Bonnie Doon Caravan Park is about two and a half hours easy driving from the Melbourne CBD it is a kick-back location with plenty to do if that is what takes your fancy. Bonnie Doon offers camping, fishing, water skiing and boating, sailing, scenic drives, bowls, golf, horse riding, bush walking, swimming and tennis. Nearby local pubs and restaurants have a reputation for good quality, well priced country-style meals.

Bonnie Doon features a Jumping Pillow, Solar heated salt pool and toddlers pool seasonal only, Amenities block, Laundry facilities, Children's adventure playground, Fully stocked kiosk - take away food available, Tennis courts, Covered BBQ area, Ice and LP Gas, EFTPOS.

Boating is a big deal at Bonnie Doon. Guest just launch down the bank backed up by Boonie Doon, 'retrieval unit', if and when needed. Many leave their boat hooked to a staked mooring and use it when needed.

The fishing report says on Jan 4 Cueball, after strike outs at Burke St, Gravel Rd, Johns Hole, made an early start which produced a ripper of a 4 pound trout. Within 20 min a bigger fish hooked up, which was sighted before getting off. Cueball says local dough with no sinker and just a hook is a preference.

Berley is a must. First light is suggest until about 9am.
