A troupe of Western Lowland gorillas led by the impressive 210kg Silverback Kibabu is at Mogo Zoo. Kibabu's two favorite ladies Mouila and Kriba and their offspring, Mahali and Kipenzi came to South Coast New South Wales from Taronga Zoo, Sydney.

Over 400 animals, representing more than 70 species, are displayed at Orana Wildlife Park. Sixteen scheduled animal feeds occur daily and are accompanied by a presentation from a wildlife guide. This means Orana Wildlife Park has something to keep visitors of all ages entertained for the entire day.
Orana's unique and exciting animal encounters are a park specialty and will get visitors up close to endangered animals. Fanana a young male giraffe is an essential part of the future for Orana Wildlife Park as future breeding bull in a program which has been running for 20 years.
Fanana the Jet-set giraffe has a big future ahead at Orana
Fanana is especially popular with visitors to the wildlife park as they are able to hand feed him at the daily wildlife encounter from noon to 3pm. Fanana was transferred from Taronga Western Plains Zoo, Australia in 2013 after the death of Orana's much loved male giraffe Harold.
Fanana is the first giraffe to fly into New Zealand since Orana's last breeding bull Harold flew to NZ in 1994. Fanana's role is to sire many more youngsters. But as giraffe's reach maturity at about three to four years it will be some time before more calves are born at Orana.
Orana's giraffe breeding program has produced 17 calves. Orana Wildlife Park on McLeans Island Road, Harewood is 10 minutes from Christchurch Airport and 25 minutes from Christchurch CBD. Open daily 10am until 5pm. Last entrance is 4.30pm. Closed Christmas Day.
