Ross, Jo and Friends head their caravans into Tasmania's Wild WestRoss and Jo Whitty are now in Tasmanias North West bound for Strahan 'on the Around Australia via Tasmania road' with two other couples who are towing their own rigs.
Ross and Jo have a brand new Giest 630 caravan towed by a Toyota Prado turbo diesel. Apart from two short shakedown trips they are novices who are learning fast.

GoSeeAustralia Great Drives of Australia. The Monaro Way. Melbourne to Canberra via Sale, Bairnsdale, Lakes Entrance, Cann River and CoomaWe decided to head for Canberra via Cann River and Cooma because we had not done the Monaro Hwy leg before. That makes it different and therefore interesting.
So we saddled up GoSeeAustralias restored 1985 Sahara Land Cruiser manual diesel. Plugged in a borrowed Engel frig to the auxiliary battery, added food, tools, bedding and camping gear and tackled the 735km route.
Twelve hours later we reached our destination in Banks ACT. Our actual travelling time was 9 hours 45 minutes and we spent 2 hours and 15 minutes in stops along the way.

Aileen H. asked GoSeeAustralia to help with the ultimate road journey in Australia. Australias famous, caravanning nomads rite of passage, the Lap of Honour, Around 'The Block'. Aileen and her husband plan at least 12 to 24 months to see Australia. 'We have a 93 Nissan Patrol 4.2 diesel towing an 18ft pop-top' she told GSA. 'We hope to leave Wagga Wagga approx March April all going to plan. We thought of going anti clockwise but welcome any suggestions,' she said.
